3 Helpful tips to help you spice up your sex life and increase intimacy in your marriage! Use these out of the ordinary tips to help increase intimacy in your life.
Focus on What Works
Are you constantly trying new things and making changes to your sex life, but nothing seems to be working?
If it’s not working, you may want to talk with your spouse more. It may seem counter-intuitive because if you want more sex, why talk more? Open up with each other about what is working in your sex life. More celebratory talk, such as discussing what you do like and flirting.
For example, ” I really like when you do X, do you think it would fun if we try Y?” This type of open talk is less burdensome, versus talking about what’s not working. Talking about what is not working all of the time can get old, and can start feeling like homework.
Explore New Things
Start looking at sex outside of your bedroom, for instance, bring in pornography. Looking at sex outside the bedroom can create a surprisingly huge change in your setting, thus your intimacy. It can open you up and give you ideas, and increase the excitement. This can be through video, reading, or having phone sex if your partner travels or is away. This is a different way of having intimacy.
These ideas may be a bit out of the normal or things you haven’t thought about but they can be helpful.
Consider Taking an Intentional Break from Sex
You may think, “Oh my gosh, that’s all we’re doing, it’s not exciting!” If you and your spouse can make a decision together, such as marking a date on the calendar and agree to refuse to have sex no matter what, until the date marked, this can be pretty exciting!
Abstinence makes the heart grow fonder. Think about it, it’s a psychological thing where if we put something out of reach, we start thinking about it more and it becomes more exciting, more desirous.
Try putting your sex life off-limits and see if that doesn’t make things more exciting for you.
Have you tried any of these ideas? Let me know how it went for you!
